Rainy Day~Good for ART

For the girls that have had the Ten Seconds Studio Jewelry class, these are the slider tins that are the next 2 sizes up..2"x3" and 2 1/2"x 3 3/4".
~
The small one is Kiss Me Pink, the larger one is Periwinkle. They were made using the new Kabuka embossing plates. I added some rhinestones, and sanded the edges to distress a bit.
~
Since these would be handled, I did Spackle the backs. Easy-Peasy gifts for someone special.

Little House in Pearl "UPDATE"

I was REALLY impressed with the Ten Seconds Studio metal color Pearl. I couldn't believe how classy it looked! The roof is Appletini that has been touched up with alcohol inks. Just a few rhinestones add a bit of glitz!

Fun time today in the Studio!

UPDATE! Nancy had a good question about where the brown color comes from in the pearl. It's a reflection in the lower part of the house. The embossing is all silver. The top has the alcohol inks applied with a brush. WAY fun!

Heritage Page

I began this whole adventure about 8 years ago when my DIL invited me to a scrapbook party. I had a blast!!! New tools to buy, new ideas for paper...I LOVE paper.

Then a few weeks later, my dear junior high school buddy introduced me to stamps, and ink, and MORE papers. A monster was created!!!!!

BUT, I never found papers I really liked for my old vintage photos I had of life on the farm in the middle of Nebraska. I have some really wonderful photos I received a couple of years ago from my mom, so I decided with my new love of Graphic 45 papers.....get it on! I used Perfect Pearls and Distress re-inkers on the background paper for Family.

This is a combination of all kinds of "had to have" vintage things. Grandma was a one room school teacher and grandpa a Homestead land farmer. Hard times. She saw her piano go out the door during the Depression. But when she got the 2nd one with her money from teaching, she would sit and play and sing. I started piano at 5. Grandpa could play several instruments, although I never heard him. They would both be proud of Jeff...my teacher/band director son.

So here they are. Perhaps I'll follow with some more of children on the farm. She had my mom, the twins, and my youngest uncle within 3 yrs. The story is there was a set of triplets and 2 sets of twins. Only one set of twins survived. They put them in shoe boxes as beds since they were so tiny. And no pampers....whew!

Have a creative day!

Another Good Day in the Neighborhood! UPDATE

After watching Tim and Ten Seconds Studio's video, I HAD to get the alcohol inks and metal together. .

So....the one on the left is using the felt pads to add color, the one on the right is using the pen with alcohol ink in it to PAINT the color on. This is what you can do at 11PM at night!!!!

I kind of dab it and put it on, then take it off. The trick is not to use too much as it removes the color already there. And it WILL remove the color of the metal, too. Way Cool! I like the mottled look of "old tin tile" that I think it created.

Then, bright and early this AM, the delivery man struck again!!! Oh, happy day!

Megan and Cheryl sent the metal and tape for Scrap St. Louis!!! AND a whole bunch of KabuKAs to play with there! How cool is that???? (Who says that in demos, can anyone guess?) Do I feel a prize pin in the offering for who is correct. hummmmmmmm........

So, if you want to use these new terrific Molds from TSS...register to come to St. Louis in April. I'll bring them to Bloomington on Sunday, too!

Have a great day...I know what I'm going to be doing!

UPDATE: And this was it! The Cabin Red is much brighter in person. (See the shot above.) See the green alcohol ink on the leaves?

And I added the bottle green to the butterfly. Wendy said to try it, I decided to sleep on it. Sometimes midnight is not a great time to add to a project. Too many times it goes in the trash, but here, I think it worked!

Metal Butterfly

Last night I decided I needed to do something with all the wonderful Maya Road books I have from my prize stash. I needed to make something large with my new Ten Seconds Studio metal colors....I needed to do SOMETHING! Ha!
~~~
So here is the Plum metal and the Butterfly from the coaster album. I used several molds to achieve this, and a metal brush tool to remove color below the level of embossing. More silver shows and gives a bit of a different look.
~~~
I like it! What do you think? You have got to see this stuff to really appreciate it.

We will expose the Scrapbook Friend'z girls to the new colors Sunday in class.

The samples are done in black and brown, but we will be able to use COLORS!

Hope to see you there!!!!
~~~
Make sure I take pictures girls, I always forget!
Someone rang my doorbell today and brought a lovely package. Two March issues of the wonderful book/magazine Bead Trends, and a nice gift certificate for free BEADS!!!! Whoo!Hoo! MAKE MY DAY!
You can hardly tell this is a picture and not the real thing in front of you. Their shots are amazing to say the least.
I used Vintaj Brass Co. bead elements, papers, stamps, Distress Inks, and of course...Tim Holtz's stamps Nature's Moments on the back. The image in the middle is from Paper Whimsy. Love that little face!
Watch Fob Collage
It seems like forever since I've been able to upload something of interest here. Been working on future classes and assignments that are coming together.
This is a watch fob from Ginny's Small Studio Productions that has a faceted face. You can't really appreciate it from a picture. It has her beautiful dyed ribbons, a red number ribbon, and 4 pieces of Tim Holtz's Idea-ology.
The little face is a new sheet from Paper Imagery Designs #556 that has great new shapes and terrific flourishes featuring Avery....I know he's my favorite!
Add a rhinestone, a metal star, some watch parts with at bit of Distress Ink and you are DONE!
~Catch you later!
Two Great Products for Scrap St.Louis!!!
These are 2 of the products we will be using at Scrap St. Louis...come and join the fun!!!!
I got my hands on some of the new colors of metal from Ten Seconds Studio last week and finally got some time to play! Cool colors, huh? Appletini Green.
~
The butterfly is from Vintaj. Very cool piece. And it's on a piece of chipboard 1 1/2 inch square.
~
That's about all there is to it. Run the metal through the Cuttlebug or use a TSS mold to make a one- of-a-kind embellishment or pin or whatever!
