Lots of Water under the Mississippi Bridge

Since last we chatted, I've been to Galena, Davenport, Moline and back. Had a great visit with Sue from Sue's Ink and Stamp (absolutely LOVE her shop...you must go and visit) in Galena. Watched the boxes of goodies arrive as we spoke!!!! Scored some more Perfect Pearls Mists and some more Dies from Sizzix. She has tons of wonderful Ranger products, Sizzix, Stamps galore, and INKS...of course. And saw my dear friend Jan Ketza at her shop Galena Beads. She has more beads than you can possibly imagine and all the wonderful Vintaj pieces. Such a sweetheart, and that shop was really busy!!!! Hope you had a great weekend.


Got some brand new items at Scrapaganza, too. Loads of things came in the night before the class.......lots of hard to find TIM stuff. Papers, dies, tapes, the Configurations, and STAMPS! Yes, they have it all.....go before they're all gone! Thanks so much to the students and Kelli and Beth. A good time was had by all, and we got all our projects done. Thanks to Alisa and Michelle, too. Great staff. Forgot the camera in the car with Bill, but you will not believe how much new stuff they have in the shop. Just Go!

This is another pin I put together to wear to class. It has the Ten Seconds Studio metal and the Rosette Die with a Tattered Floral flower sprayed with Perfect Pearls Blue Smoke and an Accoutrement from Tim.

Here are the little lovelies as a group down on the Mississippi River levy before homecoming for a terrific photo opt. I just knew one of the girls was going to jump back and knock one of the guys into the fountain....luckily it didn't happen. Alex, my grandson, is the one on the far right.

Such gorgeous colors for the girls dresses, and of course the guys ties HAD to match. The hanging baskets on the riverfront were just perfect!

I like to help keep the LSS going. So for my part, I did some shopping, of course.

Remembering that is very important. I like Michael's and Hobby Lobby, but you can't get the early releases and great help with products like you do at you local Scrapbook/Stamp/Art stores. So SHOP!

This is Erin's project with Perfect Pearls Mists, the Rickety House Die and the Bats from Bewitching Hour.

Not to be outdone by Miss Emma, who wants you to notice that she's lost her FIRST tooth!!! Or is that just my imagination? She liked the Witch that had been texturized with the Texture Fade Cobwebs. And some black ink over the top. All papers are from Sweet Margie's collection at the Girls Paperie.

AND last but not least, Morton HS Marching band scored another GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP at Champaign Saturday....MORTON ROCKS! If you get a chance to see this show, you'll be moved to tears, I guarantee it. Simply Stunning.

Halloween Tag from Tim Design Team

Halloween is getting close, so get your stuff out and make some tags!!!!

Just a correction from the last post. The Ten Seconds Studio mold is a design from Magenta. Thanks Cheryl.

I've been saving this tag, hoping to get a better picture of the piece, to no avail. If you get the colors good, the sparkle is gone, and visa-versa. So you'll just have to use your imagination.

It's a Ranger Inkssentials Manila Tag with various Distress Inks to start with, Rusty Hinge- Dusty Concord- Black Soot, that's embossed with the Texture Fade folder Cobwebs. I then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Mists, Perfect Copper and Kiwi.....can I just say....WOW! I LOVE these mists...a wayyyyyy cool product!!!

I lightly added the Black Soot DI to the embossed areas of the web for more contrast, then stamped the little spider from Hero Arts 3 times to fill space, and added Black Soot Distress Stickles.

Using Tim's Happy Halloween ticket stamp from Odds and Ends, I stamped on manila paper with purple ink, and embossed with clear Super Fine Detail powder. Then I sprayed the paper with Kiwi PP Mists. VERY cool when you see it in person, sparkly, getting a good picture is not easy.

I painted with a brush on the Ornate Plate using Alcohol Inks - Lettuce and Terra Cotta - until I got the level of color I was looking for.

The On the Fence die was used on heavy chipboard and Suze's Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel powders in Pearl, Black, and Bronze were added in layers. First coat with Pearl, and then sprinkle the other 2 colors in as you heat. It's a very cool look, I think! Add the fence and bookplate with foam squares. It picks up a blue hue in most pictures...this one shows how it's really more silver.

The Ornate On the Edge Die was punched for the bottom of the card. A reverse piece was cut from black cardstock and layered behind the tag. I edged with a Copper Kryon pen and added green rhinestones.

The piece of Chain Link was added to the Fragment Facet and Scared Pumpkin faces from Seasonal Paper Stash were glued with Glossy Accents to the back of the Facet. I liked the toggle on the chain for some reason, it looked menacing....so I added it to the chain.

Add some ribbon and you've got a fun tag for Halloween.

Just a few more of the new Manila Tags from Ranger in the booth.

Here we are at the Advantus booth. I just got done doing the make-in-take. Really gorgeous. We used the new faceted Fragments. LOVE them with the Christmas papers. Mario caught me in deep concentration trying to put the beads on and posted the picture on Twitter.

This is one of Tim's stunning Configurations pieces. The man can really put together cool stuff. And that's my lamp next to it!!! Don't you love the bird???? Claudine used the same lamp for one of her projects....much different colors and design of course!

Birds were all over the place. This one was outstanding!!! The picture doesn't come close to showing you these beauties, the glitter and stamping .....and all the handcut feathers... just fabulous.

UPDATE: These gorgeous birds are by Mary Walker one of Nancy Wetherington's students she tells me. They are FABULOUS!!!!!!

More of the amazing birds in the booth from Grungepaper. OMG. All I know is they were done by a friend of Nancy's from For Keeps Sakes in St. Louis, Tim said, but they were out of this world!!!!!

More Curiosity boxes. And you can see just a bit of the new trims above them on the wall. We decided if you didn't want to decorate them, you could put them in a drawer as just a way to organize your collections, too. Me, I'd have to glob them all up with stuff!!!!

Here's a card in the Ranger booth. I used the new Manila ATC here covered with Tissue Tape. The rest is Tim's papers and die cuts layered up.

Another one of the new smaller Manila tags stamped and Distress Inked up and layered. Easy Peasy.

Tomorrow I'll show you the fabulous booth from the extremely talented Graphic 45. They were in costumes that were way too wonderful for words. Candy, yours really Rocked the place. How fun.

Off to la la land....another fun filled day on the horizon.

What Can You Do With LUMINARTE?

Well, to begin with, you can paint chipboard, as I've done here in the background. You can paint Petaloo flowers. These are all painted with Twinkling H2O's except the green one in the center. VERY vibrant colors from LUMINARTE!!!

The birdcage, fancy flourishes, and baroque are from TIM .The birdcage is crackle painted then the dark blue Ocean Wave was used over the crackle. This collage is done on an 8x8 canvas board.

And this is just a craft store unfinished wooden birdhouse painted with various colors of Luminarte paints. The butterfly is also painted after being stamped on Grungepaper and cut out.

This is a tag page from the Bare Elements Brenda book from that I cut apart. Various H2O's were painted randomly on the tag and the overlay, Antique Floral transparency from Narratives, is added with brads. I used a black Faber-Castell PITT artist pen to add more leaves to fill out the design. It doesn't have to be perfect, just capture the main design of the flowers.

So, that's just a few things you can do with Luminarte! Give it a try. I've been running around all day, so later in the week we'll get a picture of the prizes and get that going.
