Christmas Configuration My Way & a GiveAway!

Hello Bloggers from the cold and snowy Midwest!!!! At least the sun is shining today. I tried to take pictures yesterday, but wasn't happy with all of them. So today I tried again...a bit better, but never satisfied. That's why the colors may be a bit different as it's 2 different light settings... here goes nothing!

This is no tutorial, so just look and enjoy...then go create! I will tell you some of the products along the way. Graphic 45 papers on the sides, Margies - the Girls Paperie inside as well as BasicGrey, 7Gypsies and Tim Holtz Seasonal paper stash. I also used one of Tim's stamps and the hanging sign Alteration.

This is from Tim's Holiday paper stash. I LOVE this Santa so much. Robin said it reminded her of her childhood and reading "The Night Before Christmas." This had Tim's Tissue Tape and gold garland from Trim-A-Tree on the edges. the boxes are sprayed with various Adirondacks sprays and Perfect Pearls Mists. I LOVE THEM ALL!

Felt stars were glittered using the technique I learned from the"Queen of Glitter", Lisa Pace. You must have her book...maybe Santa will bring it! I really love the Christmas lights hanging on the side with Martha glitter on them and gold cord to hang them. They are years old....and I have not seen them since....from Hobby Lobby. Wish I had a whole bunch more.
The tree is from KaiserCraft. Too cute!

The little girl is from Paper Whimsy....best Vintage Photos ever! Gale is brilliant when it comes to recreating these treasured images. I used a Book Plate and a Facet from Tim for the little girl. And the little tree and wreath I got at Red Lead in St. Louis!!!

The Santa's are Stickers from Tim and the Star is Vintaj. I added some color with metal in the center from Ten Second's Studio.

The vintage button I bought as well as the hand painted Snowman and Angel button on the tree. The Joy is Maya Road that is glittered.

THEN....this is what I really had fun with. You glue it to our ever popular piece of plastic packaging, fold a strip at the top and glue to the top of the little box!

It is brought forward and looks to be hanging. Bill was impressed.


Wrap a wooden block in tissue paper and tie with a bow. Add Glossy Accents to a Bingo chip from Maya Road...glue to a wooden star, a small circle to raise it up, and pop into the box.

Some Metal and Butterflies

We've been really busy. Fall cleanup time here, inside and out.

But I did get some cool little things made the other day.

Here is what you can do in about 5 minutes with the Ten Seconds Studio metal, a Cuttlebug Die, and some Idea-ology pieces.

No kidding....5 minutes!

And I love the Basic Grey paper Indian Summer.

More Glitter and Christmas

Like I said before, the Glitter Bug has bitten me!!! Forgive the poor photos, but glitter is very hard to photograph for me. Here are a couple of ornaments that I've put together in between watching the "little ones" this weekend and Christmas shopping before it snows.

These are Basic Grey pieces enhanced with stamps, Distress Ink, chipboard pieces, and of course, Stickles of all sorts! Go try some!!!

That Time of the Year!

It's the time of year when you break out the jars of glitter and the gold embossing powder and snowflake stamps! Lisa Pace from Maya Road is the the "Queen of Glitter" and really inspired me to get it going on some little tags.

There's a Tim Holtz stamp in there and just a peak of a Studio 490 one. Love those stamps!!!! Paper by Basic Grey...they are so wonderful with coordination of papers!!!! So get out your glitter and glam and get creative!!! I've really gotten a collection of rhinestones to add a touch of "bling" to a few pieces, too!

Oriental Books

Here are the 2 latest additions to the Vintaj books for Galena. They are my attempt at a bit of oriental style. The colors DO match, trust me, but the Distress Stickles seems to photograph a bit differently.

Anyway Maya Road ribbon and CB Blossoms, Autumn Leaves clear stamps, Basic Grey Blush papers, and of course, Distress Inks. The Grungeboard pieces are a great background for the metal findings.

The stamp is by Endless Creations . The paper is by Basic Grey and the rub-on is my new favorite, miniMarks. The piece of chipboard is the wonderful laser cut piece from Everlasting Keepsakes.It was trimmed down a bit, but still very nice. Doodles are by me....

SuperBowl Sunday

Ever have a thunder and lightning storm in February? My son thought a plane had crashed...it was LOUD! Then just 5 minutes before the Super Bowl game is to start, WE LOST POWER???? Not good...it came back at half-time, but we lost it again and again. The last time I had just put the Glossy Accents on my largest piece of Fragments and it was not settled!!! Geez!!! Trying to get downstairs to the kitchen where the flashlights and candles were, in the dark...then run back upstairs to straighten the little piece before it dries!!!!

Soooo, this is what I did when the lights were on. A 7Gypsies book, papers from Basic Grey Recess tablet, stamps are Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection and one from Endless Creations...the little guy at the top right. Altered, Artist, and Joy are by StampingSensations. Some of the papers were distressed with inks, but most were just the look of the great papers. Chipboard letters are from K&Company.

Anyway, the game was a great one...no matter who you were for, and I got to play..off and on...like the lights!

Let me know what you think of the Fragments! AREN'T THEY SOMETHIN"? They were VERY easy to work with, and using the Glossy Accents makes the black ink even darker, which I REALLY loved.

Gift Card Holder

Well, everything seems to have the same looks right now since it's Christmas and I'm possessed with Grungeboard. This is a giftcard holder. It's a wooden box painted with Metallic Red paint..looks somewhat orange here but it's not. Then the paper by Basic Grey is stamped with snowflakes and embossed in copper. Ribbons, wire, brads from Imaginisce and jingle bells make it a bit more festive.

Puzzle Swap

Ok Girls! Got my 4 puzzle pieces done. Hope they meet the requirements for all of you. They were sure fun to work with. I had no idea what to expect. For some reason I thought they would be a lot smaller, but very glad they were not! We used Urban Couture by Basic Grey. Vintage children were the theme. Here, of course, I used Collections vintage pics.The sheet of paper I used had the big beautiful flowers that I used as my background and Gaby had the great idea to paint over them for backgrounds. It worked out well since the puzzle is very thick. I used some of the Crackle Paint from Tim Holtz for the leaves. (I know leaves aren't really blue, but I had to work that into the color scheme.) . Thanks for the invite to this swap, and I'll try to figure out how to mail them next week.....too much food and family shopping right now!

Christmas Book

This didn't photograph very well. Glitter doesn't show up as it really is. But, this Melissa Frances "open up album" was fun to decorate with Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding. The black trim is by Creative Cafe.Very nice to work with. This is a shop sample for the Peoria store. Now I just need to find time to get it there!

Here is Number 8!

Here is number 8 in the Row Houses. It is my husband at about 3 years old. The color isn't quite true, but you get the idea. The frame is a belt buckle that he sawed the middle piece out for me. And the antique metal piece is from something, but don't know what. If anyone knows, please tell me!
