Time in a Bottle Altered Book

I've had this little book for ages. It's from Zutter. I love little books and just haven't gotten around to it. So, here it is, finally, with some ephemera from Tim on it...... all OVER it. Follow all the links for product descriptions.

The paper is from Tim's Lost and Found paper stash.

Also used were Tim's Alterations - Tattered Florals, Texture Fades - Damask, and the circle from the Paper Rosette.

Suze Weinberg's Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel Brightz - Spruce Green.

A concoction of Distress Ink Aged Mahogany Re-Inker and Fired Brick, Perfect Pearls Perfect Gold, and water in a Mini Mister.

Ranger's Glossy Accents.

Metal is from Ten Seconds Studio - Barn Red.

And other bits of ephemera, tulle, ribbon, and wire.

So, I started with spraying the entire book, inside and out with the PP and Ink mixture. Then I added the papers to all the surfaces except the outside spine.

The Ruler Ribbon was glued to the spine, and the little silver drawer pulls were added. They had been painted with several different colors of Alcohol Inks to get the mottled look that I like. Let it run and puddle.

A number is added to the bottle with micro beads and wire wrapped and curled around the top.

The metal piece is cut using the Rosette die, then embossed with the Damask Texture Fade and crinkled up to add dimension. The clock is glued to the center.

The Film Strip is added, and the Spinners are embossed with the UTEE and layered with Gears and Foliage over the clock faces.

The black and gold material was cut using the Tattered Floral die. Tulle was gathered and tied through the Accoutrement Button.

The tiniest of Tim's Pictures were used with Glossy Accents in the Charm Clips. Copper Metallic Mixatives was painted onto the Charm with a brush. And Alcohol Ink was painted onto the Foliage pieces. Add Baubles, Word Stick, and Charms with Jump Rings.

I added Hitch Fasteners to the Clips, and layered the Foliage pieces to add interest.

Stamp and decorate the rest of the book and add pages to your liking.

Explore all the "stuff" you've collected and just have FUN!

Black Metal TSS Book

I thought this was going to be the back cover, but I ended up liking it better than the other cover....so it's on the front. This is a 7 x 6.5 Cover-All book
(6x6 actually to them).

This is the back. It is very hard not to get a big glare when photographing metal. But this Kabuka plate is FABULOUS! A Ten Seconds Studio mold.

Back inside slider page for pages. AND these were all done by hand with the stump because they're too large for the Cuttlebug. Just to let you know why you can't use it sometimes. And YES, my arms are aching tonight!

Inside front cover. Still have to get some pages bound and put in. But it's easier to photograph without the insert. So I'll pick some up tomorrow before having lunch with an Artist friend. Graphic45 papers here...of course.

A Little Time in the Studio

We've been kind of lazy here. Really enjoying the cool weather and the garden. Had to watch Wimbledon today....great match.

But here's what I decided I should work on today, after dead-heading the lilies.

It's going to be the cover of a Cover-All book. Originally I was going to put some Graphic 45 images over the the top. NOW I'm not so sure I want to cover any of it up....

Trying to decide what color metal to use for the slider tins in Davenport in August. If you have any favorites let me know in an email or comment.

They are all so pretty, it's hard to choose!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

TransAtlantic Book Class

We really worked hard yesterday....but everyone was happy when they left. And all the books got bound. Not everyone got in the picture, but they are scattered throughout.

My "Bloomies" came...Shiela and Cheryl, girls from Bloomington. Always a hoot to have them in class. I'm sorry my picture of the other side of the room was very blurry. But they worked hard too. Jane did a wonderful job!
Must keep the scissors cutting, and still beon the air at all times....they can find us anywhere! This gal is coming to Bloomington, too, next Saturday.

Andra, like myself, likes to finish projects at home...we socialized and chatted. Her beautiful daughter chose the number for the Door Prize winner.

Margaret working very hard. Deep, deep concentration. Will see her and Andra next weekend in Bloomington at the Metal Jewelry class!

Two lovely sisters, one local, and the other from Downer's Grove! They both did a beautiful job of making this book their own work of ART. My thanks to everyone.

Some new friends, some old ones, and a good time. I slept very well last night!
See you next weekend in Bloomington!

P.S. Remember to sign up for this class in Davenport, Iowa at Scrapaganza in August! We'll do it again!

Christmas in October Class

This is what you girls voted on for the next class. So, by popular demand here is the Christmas in October book we'll be putting together at Scrapbook Friend'z on the 12th.

It's a Bind-It-All class again, so we'll get more practice with that little jewel. And bring your alcohol inks and applicators because we're going to figure out something special to do with them, too!!!

These are certainly using the jewel tones for a bright and cheerful Christmas Book that you can give or keep for your little self.

Be there!
