Embossing Metal And Perfect Pearls Class

I always like to teach a technique in a class. Have fun. Make something cool. Have fun. And learn to use a tool you might not be real familiar with so you feel more comfortable. And Have Fun!!!

So, that having been said, I think this class is going to be really inspirational. You did ask for it after seeing my tool caddy/gift box at my last class, and it is combining Grungepaper, Ten Seconds Studio Metal, and Perfect Pearls.

This project is done in Brr-Blue, a dark metallic metal, but it could be done in any color. I hope to have the new colors from Cheryl to show you in class.

We will be working with molds from TSS, but I'll also show you a quick and easy way to work with this fabulous metal as well. So if you have an embossing machine...Cuttlebug or such, bring it along. You'll be amazed!!!!

Right now it's scheduled for Feb. 6th at Prairie Art Stamps. A slightly different version is on the back burner for Scrapbook Friend'z. Stay tuned!!!!

Hope to see you there....

GrungeBoard Pumpkin

UPDATE: Made him a lid. Ha! Used the Hitch Fastener for a stem.

I live in the city that claims to be the "Pumpkin Capitol of the World" because the Libby plant that cans pumpkin is here.
~
Sooooo, we see a lot of pumpkins.
They're everywhere...in the windows, on the street corners, on flags, on the water tower, even the soccer balls at the weekend tournament were....you guessed it....PUMPKINS. Orange soccer balls with jack-o-lantern faces.

So it is fitting that I would be drawn to making the little orange blob out of Grungeboard and paper. A little battery powered tea light sits inside. Kinda cute.
~
The leaf is of course, Appletini Green Ten Seconds Studio metal run through the Cuttlebug. The curly stuff is GrungePaper.

My fingers have the look of a 4 pack a day smoker. Camels probably.

It will wear off eventually.

Happy Autumn....the pumpkins are here. Oh, and the whole town smells like pumpkins...and that's not like pumpkin pie!

Be well.

Projects Are Calling Me

Margaret from Scrapbook Friend'z gave me a scroll coaster book and some new mini pieces from Maya Road and sent me out the door Friday to create a store sample. Houses, snowflakes, and Christmas, oh my!
*
Tim Holtz pine trees in the background. And Distress Rock Candy Stickles on the snowflakes. Hard to see here, but great in person. And layers of Distress Inks on all the chipboard.

If you know me and Row Houses....that's what got me started!!! Oh, boy! Here is the cover. Waiting on some papers.....not a good waiter.

I've been working on it in between the GK's here this weekend and painting the windows.

All's going well today with the last stage. So I'm happily crafting away doing ART in the Studio....with the drill and saws going full blast downstairs.

Update later....OH! And the new papers have arrived at Prairie Art Stamps in Springfield, Il. from Graphic 45!!!

GO GET THEM!

GrungePaper and Cuttlebug

Had to shop a bit yesterday and picked up the Cuttlebug Astericks die cuts. I thought they were flowers!!!

I was going to take the new Idea-ology stuff to show at class today, but the adorable little tin the Film Strips come in looked just right for a flower.

Here's the layered up flower on Grungepaper, with Distress Inks in many layers and colors, and then the new Distress Stickles Rock Candy!!! Whoo! Hoo!!!

Fun in the sun....It's finally hot in the Midwest.

Have a great day.....and Create ART!'

UPDATE: The Pearl is KaiserCraft-Mango. Should have told you..LOVE their rhinestones and pearls....so many colors. Thanks Melissa for all of them.

Tim Holtz Altered Bird

I guess this is as good as my Tim bird is gonna get. So here he is. You can get these birds at Paper Imagery Designs...very reasonably priced, too! FUN!

The house is using acrylic paint and Ten Seconds Studio metal on the roof and sides. A few white Sharpie dots add a bit of interest.

The bird has wings and head gear from Vintaj. He looks a bit evil in his coloring, but I kind of like him. The TSS metal in bard red and rock star black has a bit of stability added with......you guessed it....GrungePaper!

The hardest thing to come up with was his feathery topknot. Very thin red wire. Wrapped and cut for the added height he needed.

Get one and make it your own!

UPDATE: A couple of you asked how I did the roof. It is the same Barn Red metal as on the tail feathers. It has been run through the Cuttlebug with a TSS mold. The differentiation in color is because of the sunlight angle. Hard to take good pictures of the metal for this reason....at least for me!
