Good NEWS and Packages!!!!

So, here I am in the middle of taking pictures of a tag I want to upload tonight, and DH yells, "Here comes your Tim Package!" Cute, huh?

How can it possibly be here this soon??? Don't get your hopes up.

But yes! My Vagabond has arrived!!! But I cannot open it up and play until I get this post done....DISCIPLINE!

Here we go....

I used the Manila Tags from Ranger, of course, and embossed the Snowman Texture Plate to the left. THEN....here's the new idea.....using the small plates for cutting the On the Edge Dies, I put the other side through with the trees. DO NOT let the plate overlap the snowman and it works BEAUTIFULLY!!!!! Two embossed images side by side!!!!

Then I sprayed with Blue Smoke Perfect Pearls Mists, and scootched it around to fill in the edges of the embossing, with a brush. See around the trees and the Snowman. Pull the color off the Trees and Snowman with a brush to create the lighter tones as shown.

Then I laid a wet brush onto the colors Pine Needles and Forest Moss Distress Ink Pads, and painted the color onto the trees. A couple of browns were used for the trunks and Snowman's Arms. Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge for his nose. Do a couple of layers of color.

The Snowflakes are cut on Grungepaper using metal tape with sticky backing from the Hardware Store...find it in the Duct work section. Add some Denim Alcohol Ink to clear Rhinestones for large snowflakes and use smaller clear ones on Frosty.

The Ticket is from Tim's Odds and Ends set and it's stamped on Manila cardstock, inked with Barn Door Distress Ink, and since DI is wet, I added Clear Ultra-fine Embossing Powder, heated and repeated 2 more times. Very Shiny!

Distress your tag's edge and add Black Soot DI to the tag....add the bow and you are DONE!
You have a watercolor looking tag that was so easy to create!

** I got a copy of the new Somerset Studio Gallery Winter 2011 in the mail yesterday.....WHOO HOO....my book with the Teresa Collins Collection is in there.
So after a fun day shopping and visiting with the kids and Bill's sister we had a nice quiet dinner at Rudy's!!! Ha! Quiet.........not on your life. We laugh and carry on until the tears roll down our cheeks!
~
What a group!!!!!!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them all.....thanks guys for a fun evening.

I'm off to open the VAGABOND....one more day and we'll draw for a prize of the Configuration. UPDATE...Vagabond....smooth as butta! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KaiserCraft and Ten Seconds Studio Get Together!

As I promised Melissa and Richard, I made something using the huge bag of goodies they bestowed upon me. I have always loved KaiserCraft, and they outdid themselves this season with wonderful papers, stamps, rubons, tags, etc, etc.

So this is using the Fabulous LUSH Collection with the bottom paper from TIS THE SEASON specialty flocked paper, REINDEER. I think it brings out the brown colors in the metal piece well.

The metal is from Ten Seconds Studio and I used one of the new molds with the trims and dress form on it. It is too COOL for words. They all are. The buttons go right with the chipboard elements. And the stamps in the Lush collection are used to fill in where needed.

The metal was Alcohol Inked and sanded.

The layers are dried in between and added to form gorgeous colors blending together. Love this technique.

Moving on.....these are the 4 cards we made in the Hero Arts class. It was a blast! Shari and Jennifer were great fun. Sadly, my little bag I made with the other little gal (sorry I forget your name) didn't make the trip home very well...but it's a really cute idea. I loved all these things. Such great projects!!!!!

And Margie grabbed a package of papers and gave them to me!!!! You must check out The Girls Loft website. She has wonderful new papers as you see. Her booth was simply stunning....I did not get a picture, but I hope she uploads the dress form she had in there with Halloween colors on. It was gorgeous!!!!!!!

And what do you think of this new line from Teresa Collins????? I LOVE it, it's right up my alley with the red, brown, black and white!!!! These are from her make-in-take. I didn't get to do it, had a class to run to, but I did snag the papers to make something with later..........thanks so much to Stephanie!!! She is too sweet, and extremely talented to boot....a fabulous group of gals.

I got to make 2 stamps with Teresa's new stamp maker! It is amazing. You've got to see it to believe it. The possibilities are endless.........check it out.

That's it for today. Enjoy. And support your local Scrapbook stores. Try to imagine where you would be without them........it's not a pretty picture.

The Weekend and Soccer Junkies

This is the book I made for Teresa Collins using her Welcome Home collection. Beautiful papers and the Burgundy Petaloo flowers looked just great with them.

I used Tombow brush markers to add red accents to the papers and a golden brown to the inside of the letters. I like the contrast.

The Chipboard pieces were really fun to work with. You can leave them black and white, or add a bit of color. It's your choice.

Stickles light up the chandelier for a bit of glitz.

This is on a craft accordion book that was just the perfect color to go with the Welcome Home collection. The smaller flower in the Mulberry Street Tyedye collection above has Stickles on it. That's the sparkle effects you see. There's a bit of Tim on the clock, he's always there somewhere.

I'm just going to say this and move on.....WE WERE ROBBED!!!! OK, still don't see the foul on the winning goal for TEAM USA!!!

Good game, and we're still in it.

Brit is coming down for the weekend. So I'm taking some time off to see her this weekend. Her Grungeboard bracelet took a bath, and well, it just needs to be replaced. Tell a teen you need to take things off once in awhile!

Have a great weekend. And "Don't forget to Play". I still haven't shown you that bracelet yet, have I?

Oh, I got 2 extra Texture Plate sets. Seems I ordered some, bought some at Scrapbook Friend'z, and ordered the same ones again. Think enough of you out there would want to have a giveaway of these? You'd have to have an Embossing machine to use them, or you could go buy one if you didn't have one!!!! Ha!

Let me know....they're just sitting here, still packaged up, needing a home to play in.

Lots to Say Today

First off, this is a little something I made using the fabulous papers from Teresa Collins!!!! I LOVE black and white....but you guys know that from some of my other projects. This is the Welcome Home collection. Her lines are so clean....love them all.

Stay tuned as I'm going to have a surprise later with her Welcome Home line the end of June. The flowers, of course are from Petaloo. They are so much fun to play with. I colored the stamens here with a permanent marker brush. Gives great contrast.

Then, my friend Lisa Visel has a great new online shop Scrapin' Deals and Steals!!! You can buy all kinds of cool stuff there in bundles. But wait, there's more!!!!!!!!!!! She has Petaloo flowers in this bundle!!!!!!

So, if you can't find them locally, go to Lisa's online shop and get a sampling....and other must have things. Whoo! Hoo!!!! Direct to you from your own home.

Next, 6 weeks until CHA!!! A whole lot of very cool stuff coming out from Creative Imaginations..........exciting stuff there. I'll post a Luminarte project later this week that I did for the Grandson. Stay tuned.

Going up to Door County the end of June. Oh, we love it up there. Going to see Oscar's new shop in Egg Harbor. Should be a great relaxing trip.

And that about wraps it up for today. Off to get some photos developed.

Have a great day.........and "Don't Forget to Play"...that's for another day, too.

Got that on a bracelet in Anaheim. It's too cool.

Teresa Collins Shaker Box

I've always been drawn to the combination of Black, Ivory, Red and Brown. So while I was in Scrapbook Friend'z the other day, I saw a bunch of papers by Teresa Collins that caught my attention.

I bought 3 Shaker boxes years ago and have only used one. I decided to drag the middle one down and play around with it.......the sun was shining, the silly Daffodils were coming up (they will be sorry at some point I'm sure), and the birds seemed to have come out of nowhere....finally.

These papers are wonderful, but I wanted to add just a hint of blue to add interest instead of my usual brown. Hence, a bit of turquoise. But it was very white in the light spots, so, I used the Antique Linen Distress Ink to make it fit in better.

You can make almost any paper blend in with the right Distress Ink!!!!! And since I needed more red and black paper, I used the new Barn Door on the black and white paper..........now it's black and RED!!!!! Ta Da!

I cut out the flowers with the Sizzix die and a small punch...added a bit of Distress Ink.... a Teresa Collins stamp to the blue petals....some dots.....and of course a rhinestone in the middle for a bit of bling.

Tie some tulle around the handle and it's ready to sit out for Jerry the Easter Bunny (Emma's Friend) to hide something in.

Have a great week.

Scrapbook News and Review-Guest Blogger

I know, it's not even Halloween yet, and I'm blasting you with Christmas stuff!

This is a project that is on Scrapbook News and Review tonight with a little bit about how it was done and a little bit about me in the Guest Blogger area.

This was really fun to create, because I could drag out all kinds of stuff from my stash and just play. No worries about recreating or writing up instructions.

Enjoy and don't forget to go read their blog. It comes out every week with a guest blogger...next week is Teresa Collins. Talented lady!

And just a NOTE: These are the same products used in the Christmas wall hanging class. Spots are filling up. Only a couple of spots left for the Wallet class. It's going to be fun!!!!!

Stampers Anonymous~ the Ultimate in Stamps

Stampers Anonymous has always been the Premier Imager of the stamp world. When first starting out, just to find a SA stamp was thrilling!!! You could spot them a mile away by their detail and composition. Tim's new stamps are my new favorites of his...of course!

This is a new one by Teresa Collins. Cecile drove us up to More than Memories so we could shop and talk to Kasey...what a knowledgeable gal!! You have to buy something if you're going to a convention!! GEEZ!

Anyway, don't you love this little work of art?? TOO COOL. I just had to stamp my new ones, got a few more from SA, and decided to share it with you. Nothing special, just a really neat image on great KaiserCraft papers.

I met Lisa Pavelka there giving a class on polymer class. She is so sweet, and such a talented lady. The girls in the class were wonderful. Loved my bracelet.

And here's the pitch. Go and see Wendy Vecchi's new line Studio 490 at SA. The storage binder is wonderful, and all sorts of ideas are printed on the back of each stamp package! Genius!!

One more ~ TLFT:

When using Distress Inks over Masks or if it gets on the back side of your unmounted stamps, they won't stick well. Clean with water and they are good to go! Simple, easy, but maybe you didn't know this....
