Rust Paste Heart Collage for Prima

Three of Finnabair's Creative Team
members are over on the
today with
Rust Paste.

This is my project.

This starts with an 8x8 inch canvas board, pieces of paper, trim, torn
strips of canvas resist, German Dresden, and a paper mould from Iron Orchid Designs.

They're glued to the canvas with 3D Matte Gel.

I added Modeling Paste with the Lattice Stencil, and then added
Mini Art Stones (although the jar says just Art Stones) to the paste.

I painted areas of the piece with Heavy Black Gesso and
then began to add the 3 Rust Pastes with a brush.

This shows a layer of Opal Magic Paints and some Metalliques
are painted onto the black areas, and White Crackle Paste
fills in parts around the edges and down the middle.

The Relics and Artifact Heart is painted and coated with
Clear Crackle Paste. The fine cracks show up really well
when Gold paint is lightly brushed on top.

Walnut stain is used to add age to the entire piece.

Mechanicals, some painted, and some left alone with
their wonderful rusty finish are added around the piece.

This is a close-up shot of the Rust Paste on an
Iron Orchid Design paper mould piece.

Kinda cool, eh?

And of course lots of Crackle, Mini Art Stones, and
Mechanicals find their way into this collage.

Go take a peek and get inspired!
