Specialty Stamping Paper and Distress Markers....Hmmmm!

If you haven't tried the new Specialty Stamping Paper from Ranger....well you're really missing out on a fantastic Stamping Experience.

I'd had mine for about a week. Didn't think I'd be hopping for joy.

I was wrong...there's nothing like this stuff. I was REALLY impressed, and it takes a lot to impress me.

Here I stamped it with the Jet Black Archival Ink, dried it with the Heat It Tool, and colored it in with the Distress Markers.

It's like an engraved image. I kid you not.

VERY, VERY COOL STUFF!

Then I had started a Journal page using the Dylusions Spray Inks on an earlier post in my large Sketchbook Journal.

Here is the left side after lots of white ink, Distress Markers, and a few more bits and pieces.

This is the right hand side of the journal.

This stamp from Remnants is absolutely the most fun to stamp over several sprayed colors.

Then keep expanding outward with more pen marks and colors to make the bright colors even brighter.

I love how the Foamie stamp at the top and bottom look with the white pen around it.

It had gotten a bit dark, so the stamped and cutout wings added enough light to brighten up that side again.

LOVE the colors coming through the letters here, don't you?????

I saw a video lately where she glued 2 pages together in a composition book for more stability.

So that's what made my Journal work better, less wrinkles, and so now I'm happy working in it again.

I wish I could tell you who said this on the video, but I've been through so many, I can't honestly remember where I saw it. Just know it wasn't my idea.

Make it your own idea and give it a shot. An old trick from Altered Book days is to put a piece of paper in between the next set of pages so your glue doesn't make them all stick together.

Funny how all things seem to come back and work together at the end of the day.

Erin and the girls getting ready for MJHS Jazz Band in the Street...her 1st solo, and she ROCKED it!

She's a 5th grader, but made the Jr. High band.

Little Sister Emma climbed a tree to watch her sis.

We gave soccer feet a pedicure today...and drew flowers and dots on lime-green toe nails.

Fun times!

And their daddy's Symphonic Band playing at Super-State at the Uof I.

Congrats to all for their hard work.

 And tonight we had HUGE blasts of lightning and thunder in the NE sky....while the Super Moon minus 1 day was shining away in the Southern sky!

Looks like an egg!

Amazing phenomena!

---------------Adirondack Inks and Paints--------------

This was a challenge.

Use Ranger Adirondacks products - inks and paints.

I had several Dye Ink pads, a few Pigment Pads, lots of Paint Dabbers and a whole bunch of Alcohol Inks.

So where to start. Add some white paint with a dabber and a stencil.

Flip it over and smoosh extra paint on the other page.

Then I rubbed all kinds of color all over a journal page using Direct to Paper and Cut-n-Dry foam.

 Needless to say some of the colors were really bright like the Clover, Bottle and Terra Cotta.

I added some stencil work with Distress Inks and Paint dabbers.

The Seedless Preserves, Gathered Twigs, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks really made the stencil work pop.

Gold paint dabber on the stenciled raindrops added some shine.

I love the Lemonade and Terra Cotta background with contrasting Distress Ink here.

Can you see the eyes coming from the corner....just a happy accident.

Some silver raindrops here and lots of white gel pen.

I traced some of the leaves with the stencil and added outlines and shadows.

This was a fun project, and a real learning experience on combining different types of inks and paints.

The Theme is Green

 Go Green-A Color Challenge is the Theme for Inspiration Emporium this month. Check out the other DT members all month here!!!

So here's my contribution to GREEN.....

I used a lot of products here, some new, some not so new....ALL fun!

I started with the new Tissue Tape Commute on a Large Manila Tag. I put a piece across the bottom and one down the side.

Then I laid down The Crafters Workshop Template by Julie Balzer Designs called Daisy Doodad.

Next I added all kinds of GREEN Distress Inks on the tag.

Pine Needles, Forrest Moss, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, and Crushed Olive.

This stencil is so cool!!!!!

Then I outlined it with a black pen.

I added stamped images from the Dylusions set Around the Edge using Jet Black Archival Ink.

I used a script stamp from Artistic Outpost Ephemera Backgrounds and Coffee Archival Ink over the tag.

 

These stamps are extremely fun for tags and journal pages!!! I'm just sayin'....check them out at Inspiration Emporium!

The vintage photos are from Tim's new paper stash Destinations.

Then I added lots and lots of white and black pen marks for kicks.

This is just an old addiction of mine...doodling around everything makes me happy!

The  $2 Cash Key  is added to the dyed  Crinkle Ribbon  with a  Wire Pin.   Alcohol Ink adds a little color to the Cash Key and Distress Stains and Inks to the ribbon.

The  Mini Numeral 3  is colored with Alcohol Inks  and punched with the  Drill Punch.

Then lastly I want to show you the wonderful affects of the Distress Markers on Kraft Resist paper.

I photographed the tag on top of the paper that I had played around on with the markers. But I thought you'd like to see the whole sheet.

This is just the middle of the paper...the possibilities are endless!!!

Very fun, and the resist is so cool with the markers....easy to do.

I also used the green markers on the tag in spots...like on the leaves.

Old Enough to Know Better...A Journal Page

More and more layers on watercolor paper.

I found this saying and decided it needed to be added to my page.

I had the background for several days....just needed something in the middle to state something profound....ha!

 Here is a corner of the page.

  

Always ready to try something new. And usually my kids or grandkids guide me along the way.

That's my life in a NUTSHELL.

  

 The numerous layers of color were painted, stamped, sprayed, and colored with watercolor crayons.

Then I added the letters and outlined in white marker.

They didn't show up very well until I added the white outlining.

 The 5 in the bottom is a Bingo stencil, like the BING at the top from Balzer Designs and The Crafter's Workshop.  They are added with Distress Inks.

The Barn Door Distress Marker over several layers of watercolor are show up differently all around the page.

 This is the 2 page layout in the Journal.

If you look closely in the upper right hand corner in the background, you can see the upside-down 4 of the wood mounted stamp from Tim that started the whole collage.

 Here you can see just one stage of the layering of the page.

Numbers have always been one of my favorite things to doodle.

 The old foam stamp added on the left is outlined with white to make it pop. (This pic was taken under an Ott light at night, and made the Coffee Archival Ink look black...yes, I'm a nightowl!)

I LOVE how the Chickenwire Stencil came out with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and a touch of Chipped Sapphire to shadow.

It's freezing here today. But the sun is shining.

Tax day with Anita is on my schedule for the afternoon.

Just glad I live in the USA.
