I was just informed by a very smart person that I directed the question of "why can't some people leave a comment here on my blog. I've had lots of people try unsuccessfully, and just give up?"
Here is the response...let me know if it works for anyone.
Your readers may have third party cookies disabled in their browsers. They must
be enabled in order to leave comments in the embedded comment form.

It's more of a browser issue. Firefox doesn't work with this embedded format, and Safari on an iPad is wonky. Just making this comment on an iPad is frustrating if I need to correct something I wrote above.
Even now I can't go up and add that I use Firefox on a Windows laptop and Safari on an iPad. The best format seems to be the pop-out, accessible through settings/comments. I hope this helps - its been a frustration of mine for years and I have loads of experience with it.
Adding that I agree on Internet Explorer, but choose not to use it due to security issues. Chrome consistently works with this embedded comment format as well, but I don't always remember to launch Chrome since I'm so used to Firefox.
The easy answer is to change your comment format to pop-out. In my experience it works with IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
I use Chrome and I never have a problem here.But there are some blogs where I have to switch to IE.

I dont know if this will help anyone or not but a couple months ago I was having the same problem using only my gmail (google) email address and was only able to leave comments as anonymous. At the time I was not using google chrome.
So I downloaded google chrome and have not had the problem since.
Just had to throw my 2 cents worth in the mix. haha but really that's the problem I had with leaving comments on blogger.. I know it totally sucks too when you want to leave a comment and cant..
I never have trouble leaving comments when using my Dell PC, but I find it very tedious leaving comments from my IPad for some reason. If I type a wrong word and want to correct it I can't move the cursor back to the location of the error. I have to Preview the post and then click edit to go back and correct. What a pain! So... I try to do blog posts from my PC. (I like using a keyboard better than a touchpad alphabet anyway.)
