I hate surprises....so for me to give a sneak peek is weird! But you can't give away ALL the info, or no one will want to come to the class...RIGHT!
Anyway, these are some things I've been working on for a class with Ten Seconds Studio metal and their great molds. I LOVE it! It makes you really look like you know what you're doing...and we could all use a little of that once in awhile. Too much fun!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Blue Columbine
This is what has kept me out of the studio...the beauty of a spring garden in the midwest before the hot days of summer bake the ground. I'm not the best gardener, nor the greatest photographer, but like everything else I seem to have to dabble in, I give it my best shot.....at least for awhile.
These little guys and their pink counterparts are probably my favorite garden spectacle. And of course they really are more purple in color than blue....my favorite color as my granddaughters tell me!

Have a safe weekend.....and safe Memorial Day...bless our people in uniform. My sailor, Bill, especially!

My Interview with The Dabbling Mum
I just received an email that Alyice Edrich of the Dabbling Mum has published her interview that she took with me earlier on her site. If you have time, check it out. She has some wonderful interviews with people in all kinds of mediums and will have several more to come.
My interview is at: http://thedabblingmum.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2008-05-26T10%3A37%3A00-05%3A00&max-results=3. And her personal blog made my day with her comment.... Create Art for the Right Reasons!
http://www.alyiceedrich.com/2008/05/25/creativereasons . Thanks, Alyice!
Here is the Garden Angel that Erin and Poppie made with Grungeboard on it. The angel has a golden Grungeboard butterfly and beaded body. Don't you love the sweet face Erin made for the lovely lady...and her white scalloped collar? The wire hair was a collaboration! And the butterfly is holding up great in the outdoors!
And I finally got the battery charged enough to get the birdhouse picture taken. I used really great foamies by Making Memories ! Really crisp for a foam stamp...and the wrens are enjoying the unit!
Be well.....keep Wendy's Rick in your thoughts and prayers as he is still recovering from his eye surgery...hang in there Rick!!!!!!

ATC Time for me!
Finally got some time today to just play around for a bit. Decided I needed at least one more of Rachel Greig's wonderful things to use from the Darkroom Door. So here is a bit from her Montage Venetian Collection.
The papers are from her collection, too. Ti Amo in the background and a strip of San Marco torn for the bottom. I love her delicate key stamps and used them, and a hing from her Door stamps to add some more to the background.
The silver coin studs were added in the corners to balance. Like I said, all the main work was done by Rachel with the collage paper! Pretty cool!
As I was asked to be one of her designers, she will feature the things I've come up with on her blog in the future with a few interview questions. I'll let you know when it goes up!
Thanks again, Rachel......Great Stuff, Mate!

The Birthday Book
Here's Brittany's book. She's working all weekend, so mom and dad are going to take it home to her. She works where she got me the great blue polka-dotted Wellies!
I had great fun with these MR flowers and the book. The green front was Distress Inked with Pealed Paint, and heat set, then I stamped with the new pigment ink in Cool Peri, clear embossed and then rubbed Faded Jeans over the top to enhance the color difference. Added white dots for effect.
Oh, and the metal flowers from Maya Road were stamped with Snow Cap and heat set, some white embossing powder was added to one layer. EXPERIMENT!!! Sometimes it works.....and sometimes it doesn't...be happy when it does! Of course the letters are the new mini Grungeboard.
Wendy's Rick got a "2 thumbs up" today from the doctor...all is well in Vecchi land!!!! YEA!!!!!

Published in Altered Arts!
Boy this has been a long time in happening, but what can you say. This is a collage box that I did with Collections vintage photos, a metal canvas corner and lots of beads and wire. I really love doing this type of project. The wooden trim is from the dollhouse section in the hobby store and painted with various acrylic paints. The eyelets have wires joining the pictures together and mounted on wooden blocks to bring the images forward.
I can post it now that the May/June issue of Altered Arts has arrived at my doorstep. Thanks to everyone there for using my little work of Altered Art!
And if you have time, I'm on the Vintaj blog page featuring my journals. They did a nice job there....appreciate that, girls! http://www.vintaj.com/wpblog/

Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!
Wow, what a wonderful day here! Emma had a sleepover so we had to make "wolls" for breakfast. Rolls are a tradition here when you spend the night. We worked in the yard and had chicken on the grill....sat in the sun and made some suntea.
Then off they went and I got to finish the last book! This one has the largest piece of Vintaj metal in it. Had to keep it simple with such an overwhelming adornment, but don't you love it? WHEW! Eight books and I'm done for awhile. Gonna sit and watch TV tonight and not think about journals!
Be well!

Moving Right Along!
Not too many rays of sun here today. And now that it is out.....there are shadows casting on the book.
BUT....who cares???
This little gem weighs a bit. The medallion is really beautiful with the small dragonfly. And the other 2 are floating in the ferns! Ha! The beads on the side don't show up, but they are Swarovski crystals in blue and green and the ring has Dream written on it 3 times. I am not a great photographer, but you get the picture!
Margaret came and got the Fragments book for the class in Bloomington. It will be on display at Scrapbook Friend'z. The class is a bit of a way down the road, June 21, so come and join us for the fun! Hope to see you there.

Just heard from Jess!!! The opening is going great!! They sold the Dragonfly/Sunflower Journal!!! WHOO WHOO!!!

Another Book
This is the next book in the series... trying to use butterflies here. Ribbons and beads and charms...oh, my! It's not a very good picture, but here it is. Three more to go. The new store opened today...Vintaj Earth...GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!
The garden is looking so wonderful. Erin and I made garden angels yesterday. Bill cut out the wood, and we painted 3 of them. That kid can really paint...her shirt, her arm, my arm, the workbench....you get the picture...but we REALLY had a good time.
Tomorrow maybe a picture of one of the "girls." If it doesn't rain!
