Stencil ART on Masonite Letters

Well, it's my turn to post something for
and I cannot tell you how much fun this project really was. I think of it as
 Art Therapy.

It's just letting your mind go....turn on the music....and have fun!

I usually like to basecoat my masonite with Heavy White Gesso when using
bright colors. This makes them stay true to their gorgeous hues.

I then apply various StencilGirl Stencils with PaperArtsy Fresco Paints all around the letters.

The next step is adding a second layer of the stencils to break up the images and add a bit more interest to certain parts.

And the last is just spending hours of fun doodling....really. I did this over several days, of course. Just come back, look at it, and add a few spots of black permanent pen marks. Then some white Sharpie paint pen, and so on.

Until it makes you happy.

This is all about what you like in the end. If you decide something doesn't please you, paint over it with an opaque paint, and move on. Covering up a spot is pretty easy with paint.

You can find the letters on the
Retro Cafe Art Gallery
site here.

They are 6 inches tall and you can prop them on a shelf or hang them on the wall.

A personal favorite of mine....maybe even a new header for my page. What do you think?!?!

Your Friend in ART,

Linda
