Upcoming class

Time has really gotten away from me. The Olympics, the kids updating their house for market...SELLING the house!!! And it's almost spring!!!

By the end of next week it should be warming up a bit....then it will finally feel like Spring might be on the way.

In light of that, I thought I'd remind you of the TWO projects in the upcoming class on MARCH 13th at Scrapbook Friend'z. Not one, but TWO!

So the pictures are here for you to look at. Spring colors of Green and Pink. Happy colors and couple of fun things to learn with Metal, Grungepaper, Perfect Pearls, and Flowers.

I have all the new molds from Ten Seconds Studios you can use!!!!!!!!!!! And I'll show you the new colors of metal, too. GORGEOUS colors!!!!! I'll post a project I made later in the week with the new colors and molds.

Of course, we'll have to Distress Ink, Stamp, and glue to keep it interesting.

Hope to see you there!

Best Friends

When my friend Fran moved to South Carolina, Bill and I decided to drive down and see her new home. We loved the south and the gorgeous flowers, the homes, and of course the history.

This is a picture taken at a Southern Plantation down my the river. The tour was wonderful. The flowers were everywhere and the butterflies really enjoyed them. It was overcast, so a sunny shot was not in order, but I still love the picture.

This is using the new Petaloo flowers and Mon Ami papers from Creative Imaginations. They are so beautiful. A perfect combination that practically puts themselves together.

We also got some great news.....Jeff and Ann sold the house!!!!!!!!!!! In less than a week, they had accepted an offer and on their way to the bank. WOW! All the hard work seems to have paid off....moving end of MARCH!!!! You know what that means.....Advil!

I AM SOOOOOO TIRED!!!!

We've been working non-stop for the past 5 days helping the kids get their house ready to put on the market tomorrow!!! No pressure here....painting, sanding, washing walls, changing outlets, doorknobs, and handles, patching holes in the walls, and PACKING STUFF!!!

Unbelievable what we got done in such a short time. The house REALLY looks good, and we look like, well *%@)! Bill and I are TOAST!

Anybody get time to watch the Olympics???? We had our own, and I think we may have gotten a Bronze.

So, I can post a picture of a really fun project I did using Bare Elements and Creative Imagination papers. I LOVE the way Tim's Bookplate fits on the front.

This is an eyeglass holder, with a magnetic closure, that tips up with the bookplate to open. I used Ranger Alcohol Inks to color the plate the way I wanted. Stamps from Stampers Anonymous really add to the papers as well as pen marks and Distress Inks.

Now if I just remembered to put my extra pair of glasses in there I could find them when I needed them......wouldn't that be nice!!!!

Be well and be good to each other!!!

Brittany's Book

This is the cover of a book project for Creative Imaginations. I used Distress Ink and pen marks to enhance the beautiful papers.

Cut out butterflies and Stickles on the flowers.

Beadazzles on the chipboard....VERY cool!!!!!

Love the way she added just the yellow to the flower.

I made this book using Bare Elements book Beverly and papers Passion for Fashion. This was a really fun project since my Granddaughter, Brittany, is soooo much a shoe-freak/clothes-horse/photo diva.

She really is good. I love the black and white photos.

She's off taking a photography class now using our old 35mm camera to get more wonderful shots. Can't wait to see them.

To see the products list, go to the CI blog and enjoy the other books that were made this month!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

It's cold and dreary....we went out to dinner yesterday when it was a bit sunny and a tad warmer.

Just messing around in the studio today. GrungeBoard Hearts and Stickles are waiting for Emma to play with when she arrives later!
~update for Hels....ha!

Used Maya Road Red Mist, and the sprayed with Tuscan Sun Glimmer Mist for a bit of shine. The Glitz Stickles are Tiara.

Have a Heartfelt Day!

Metal and the NEW Kabukas

I just got some of the new colors of metal from Ten Seconds Studio and NEW MOLDS!!!!!! This is Big Daddy 7 on the top...LOVE this one, and Kabuka 8 on the bottom.

They are sooooooooooooooo cool!!!! They really outdid themselves this time!!!

You have to go to the site and check them all out. But here is a piece I made with a couple of them. I combined the molds to show you the versatility of them.

I used a paper mache box and metallic acrylic paints to give contrast to the Br-rr Blue Metal.

Different styles on the same piece gives a random look. The bottom one reminds me of an antique city street layout....it's just me.

So, go check them out....get out the plastic or go to your LSS and ask them to order these for you.

You'll LOVE them!!!

PS. Peggy asked a ? the other day in a comment, but I have no email to tell her...Yes, I've given classes in making the houses in Missouri and Illinois. Actually one of my first classes. This thing is BIG for the header, but we made 3 smaller ones in a frame for the class.
Would be fun to update and give again.....maybe.

Class Pictures

Next are some pictures of the class using Ten Seconds Studio Metal.......

it was VERY intense at times!!!!!

Some had to get out the RUBBER GLOVES!!!

We kept our heads down and our noses to the grindstone!!!!

Some even faked a smile now and then.....

One girl traveled 92 miles to get there...not Annette!

But in the end, they all got a fine finished piece of Embossed Metal and a new addiction to take home!!!! And they were all sooooo different. Fantastic work!

It was great! Thanks to Terri and her girls. We had a wonderfully Creative Day at the shop....see you again soon.

Another Header Idea

Since I never put up the entire piece I made as the header, I thought I would try posting it for "a few whiles" as my daughter used to say! This was the other one, but it got lost in the words....so I changed it again!

The Row Houses are actually hanging in my sunroom. They're in a 36"frame. I did this after my mom's death to get me up and doing "something." As we all know, loosing someone leaves a large hole in our hearts and our day that is hard to fill.

But, it was the start of my Row Houses and a class developed! Probably my favorite class ever.

There are vintage pics of me(I'm in the trenchcoat and beret and the cowgirl hat on my grandpa's tractor), my husband (the kid in the overalls) and my BIL with his siblings (under the embossed metal roof with a K) in it. And there are other vintage images from Collections and Tim's Distressables.

Still love it, so back up it goes.................until another day, I guess.
